2. Description of Service

rotten.food is a consumer platform that allows users to report spoiled or expired food products purchased from grocery stores, submit refund claims to brands, and track food spoilage trends in their area. The Service includes AI-powered photo analysis, community features (leaderboard, feed), and claim routing to brand quality teams.

3. User Accounts

You must create an account to submit reports or access personalized features. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must provide accurate information when creating your account and submitting reports.

4. Report Submissions

When you submit a spoiled food report, you represent that: (a) the information is truthful and accurate; (b) the photos are your own and depict the actual product; (c) you purchased the product from the stated store. Submitting false or fraudulent reports may result in account termination and potential legal action.

5. Refund Claims

rotten.food facilitates refund claims by routing reports to brand quality teams. We do not guarantee any refund amount, approval, or timeline. Refund decisions are made solely by the brands and retailers involved. The statistics displayed on the platform (recovery amounts, success rates) are based on historical data and are not guarantees.

6. Intellectual Property

The rotten.food name, logo, design, and all platform content are owned by us or our licensors. By submitting reports, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, and analyze your submitted data (including photos) to operate and improve the Service.

7. Prohibited Conduct

You may not: submit fraudulent reports; manipulate the XP or leaderboard system; attempt to reverse-engineer the platform; harass other users; use automated tools to submit reports; or use the Service for any illegal purpose.

8. Limitation of Liability

rotten.food is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid to use the Service (which is $0 for free accounts).

9. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance. We will notify users of material changes via the app or email.
